mini-laboratory for the study of female rap and oral history in turkic languages

the lab is organized as follows: participants will meet regularly to watch, listen to and translate music videos, archival recordings and other findings from the field of everyday oral culture

an optional goal for each participant is to create transcripts, lyric videos and translations for audio recordings they like

these videos will become the basis of the exhibition: we will set up a cozy and relaxed space to watch and read them

we have been arguing that women's resistance including their participation in the armed struggle has remained largely in the realm of oral history rather than the written official one.

it was not until the late 1980s, partly due to women's massive participation in the first intifada (1987—1992) that female resistance literary production began to emerge, with contributions by authors such as fadwa tuqan, liana badr, and sahar khalifeh to name a few.
